Pat lived on the twentieth floor of an apartment building. Every day Pat took the elevator down to the first floor and waited for the school bus. When Pat came home from school, he only took the elevator to the eighteeth floor and then walked two flights up to the twentieth. Why did pat only go up to the fifteenth floor on his way home?

Did he go up to the 15th or the 18th?
If he went up to the 18th, maybe that's as high as the elevator went. You didn't say he took the elevator down from the 20th.

Pat is a mentally-challenged midget. Too dumb to get a stool or stick to be able to push the button for the 20th floor.
