The board was made from 225 pavers laid in a bed of sand. The bonus squares were then painted in the proper colors.

Letter tiles were made from craft-store wood plaques. During games, they are spread face down across the grass.

Shelves found a second life when they were reconfigured to make tile racks. Game pieces got a coat of polyurethane to protect them from the elements.

The size of the game means people have to get out of their seats to play.
