St. Catharines man wins $14.8 million from weekend's near record jackpot
TORONTO, Jan. 26 /CNW/ - According to Jorma Hogbacka, a semi-retired
welder from St. Catharines, collecting one third of a near record jackpot is
pretty much a day like any other. "I always knew I would win," he said.
Hogbacka picked up $14.817,318.00 from Saturday's LOTTO 6/49 draw which
grew to a near-record $44.4 million jackpot. He is divorced with no children,
but has close family and friends. He plans to share his winnings with them,
including helping out several former employees from a local Tim Hortons.
the man won 1/3 of the 44 million jackpot, the other two winners have not come forward yet
on the news i saw tonight, he said plans to give $30,000 dollars each to five workers at a local donut shop because they always got his order right
