As clay Monroe was walking down a old road one day he spotted a murder, although he did not stop to notify the police.

Why not?

I think Ceili's right. A murder of crows... means a group of crows. (Like a school of fish.)

Sozobe ur right. Good job. Murder is the collective noun meaning a grop of crows.
