No, that doesn't work. "Ovoid" just means "egg-shaped." (I thought it meant "an oval-ish shape," but the "ovo" is the important part.)

What the heck do you call that shape besides "football-shaped," which kind of defeats the purpose here?

I'm looking for something pointy on both ends...

Someone once described Australian Rules football (which has an ovum-shaped ball) as religious ritual, largely enacted by men, where they pursue the fantasy of returning to the womb, and/or enact some kind of fertility ritual, by attempting to kick said ovum between two giant goal posts representing the open legs and birth canal of the Great Mother.

By that light, round balled football goals would represent one's sperm's success in the greatest race of all?
