Old Verizon Yahoo Virus Protection Removal

I am trying to remove my old virus program supplied by Verizon Yahoo. When I go to add remove programs I get the message below. What can I do to remove the program so that I can install new virus protection? Thanks for any help!

@Victor Murphy,
You may have to uninstall all Symantec products in order to do so.
