Can I store tracks off a cd to Windows Media Player?

Can I do that? It's a CD I burned myself from tracks that used to be in the media player library but got lost.

Yes you can, just insert the CD and go to the "Rip" tab in Windows Media Player and you can rip mp3s or wma files (set in your options).

Why bother with the CD? I started copying all mine onto a 320 gig hard-drive. I am going to get rid of the CDs and just run it straight into the amp via my notebook. Bonus is that if I want to I can burn the discs - but that's not so important.

yeah the idea is that I wont have to bother with the CD. I'm just so clueless with computers that it's taking me ages to figure out how to get my music on there and in one place properly.
