That's what color I pictured Pamela Rosa's...for real
I don't know if it's the Rosa part of your name, sort of Spanish or Italian, but I pictured you having really, really dark brown, almost black as the night sky eyes. My daughter has those - beautiful- I used to look into them (when she was a baby and would let me stare into her eyes) and think exactly that- two dark pools of eternity.
So is that what your eyes are like Gus? Very Happy

(But Pamela are y;ou from South Africa - a Boer (dutch settler)? Or am I completely confused and getting it wrong? I think I did read something about you being from south africa...or maybe you just have an interest in what's happening in that country.

@OmSigDAVID,
I knew that- I didn't even have to guess. Even if I hadn't met you, I would have thought brown - but I wouldn't have pictured how pretty your eyes are David. As I told you before, beautiful color, lovely shape and incredible lashes...I was envious.
(not to embarrass you) it's simply true.
I think your eyes are your most striking feature.

(And I think FOW is just pretending to act gay).

Will be in NJ/NY second week in april - will you be around?

@Pamela Rosa,
Eastern european as in what country?

How old were you when you moved to South Africa? I'm interested because I have several friends who emigrated there from England and I've heard many things about their experiences. Their experiences, and in fact, how scenically beautiful I learned South Africa to be have triggered a real interest for me about in terms of the incredible dichotomy of highs and lows people experiences there .

National Geographic (who took that picture) tracked that girl down a while back. It was taken in 1985.

I found this article a year or so ago, and it really took me by surprise. Like many people,
been captivated by these beautiful eyes in such an exotic face for a long time.

Learning the truth made me aware of what a pretty fantasy I'd concocted.

Yeah; I recognized her b4 u posted both pictures.
I remembered her.

Chai, your screen name makes me think vaguely Chinese,
but I infer that this is not true ?
You are actually Caucasian ?

My eyes have been described as the "beckoning of the devil" and the "casual calling of the antichrist"

You choose.

Choose? How can I ?
They both sound so beguiling.
I think they're brown though (both of them).
Are they?

U r very kind to say so.

However, if I had it within my power,
I 'd switch for the color of djjd62 's eyes
( I think THOSE r good looking blue eyes )
along with blond hair.

Harboring ideation along those lines,
is suggestive of deeper issues of gender-related concern to him.
(This is not to imply disfavor.)

Do u think I have been too hard on him ?

I was thinking about it, and I realized that I associate brown eyes with more serious people- especially men. And when I realized I was doing that, I thought about why. And I think it's nothing more than the fact that most of the men in my family, and in fact, life- have had brown eyes. Including my father who is a very intelligent, and very serious sort of man (we've spoken about this before).
So, it's probably nothing more than projection on my part. And even if someone has a wonderful sense of humor and can be very funny- if I detect a underlying seriousness of purpose or affect or mood, I always think brown eyes.
It's funny that you mentioned ddjj (I never get that right). I think he's one of the funniest posters on here and I detect in his humor a real lightness of spirit - so when he said he had blue eyes, I wasn't surprised.

Isn't that interesting? I remember when I was little my dad loved Broadway shows and musicals and he loved the novel Dr. Zhivago so he bought the sountrack and I used to listen to it and look at the album cover and the pictures of the characters in the booklet inside.
And when I realized the storyline involved this man having this beautiful dark haired wife, but falling in love with a blond woman (Julie Christie) my first thought was- Why?! I found the dark haired woman much prettier - probably because again, my mother was dark haired and for that matter so was I.

my parents went to highschool in San Antonio Texas and there were a lot of Mexican girls and boys in the yearbook, which again, I used to sit and look at and I saw that this blond girl was voted homecoming queen and I had found this picture of a beautiful Mexican girl and I asked my dad, 'Why wasn't she voted the queen ? She's so much prettier than the other girl...'
Of course then he had to explain to me that in 1950, a Mexican girl wouldn't have been voted homecoming queen in a Texas highschool no matter how pretty she was.
But I think it's interesting how some people are drawn to similarities and others to differences.

No, not at all (I haven't read everything you've written to him) but in general, I think you're always fairly pragmatically open in your communication with anyone. I've not noticed any particularly gratuitous or overly barbed digs that weren't topical towards him.
But I do notice a marked difference in his style of communication. When he first started posting, he wrote like a normally, masculine male. No silliness - just straight information- not even very many adjectives or descriptors.
That changed- and as I said, I stopped reading- as it became less interesting to me.
But I think he's added these more feminine touches to cloud the issue of his actual gender.
I just wish he'd go back to being himself. He's interesting and seems to know a lot about a lot of things.

If we ever get pm's or if you'd like to start a thread - or if you'd like to post it here- I'd be really interested in hearing your emigration story.
Especially in terms of what you expected and what you actually and experienced.
And whether or not you think your expectations were realistic or not.

Of course, that's only if you feel comfortable telling me those things. Don't feel pressured at all.

Aidan, for the record my eyes are the color of Irish moss, or, more specifically, Sagina subulata.

At least that's what I've been told.
