Walter has made the point - some of us speak English, and not American!
It's a very brave, or remarkably stupid, person who would consider correcting my English language and/or grammar. Foofie - I don't think you're in the first category.
And you are patronising, ill-informed, just plain annoying.
Apart from the fact that the Queen is our titular Head of State (and I hope this will be remedied soon), the Royal Family has absolutely no relevance in Australia.
As to USA being the number one nation - surely you jest!
When we say "Only in America" - under no circumstances take that as a compliment.
@margo,
Oh my, Margo!!!
On ya! Never seen your tail so fluffed!
I don't think I have noticed Foofie before?
Is Foofie an idiot, teasing Margo, or a troll, folks?
@Rockhead,
I'm voting for Margo!
These aching paws haven't been able to work up a decent provoke in ages.
Henceforth, let us note the baton has been passed to a new species! Let the cry go forth through A2k:
"Don't Provoke The Pussy!"
@dlowan,
Quote:"Don't Provoke The Pussy!"
Errr... maybe not. It seems a tab riscible...
I would humbly suggest:
Touch Not The Cat

Margo understands what I mean.

Should you not have had an "and" after the hyphenated word "ill-informed"?
As far as the U.S.A. being the number one nation, I only meant it relative to its superior might, not as an enumeration in a list.
I wish you would stop thinking that I am patronizing? How am I patronizing? I just state the facts.
@Foofie,
Quote:relative to its superior might
Superior to whom? Any tiny nation it picks a fight with? There's a name for places like that.....

Superior in might to all other nations. That should that offend anyone? Are there not people that one is superior to? Are there not people that are superior to oneself? It is the same with nations, and the U.S. is superior in might to all other nations. As Yul Brynner said in the Ten Commandments, "It has been said; it has been written."
Declare war against Australia...........and no-one will turn up.
"I wish you would stop thinking that I am patronizing? How am I patronizing? I just state the facts"
I've heard this claim from many people, who wear self imposed blinkers regarding the way in which they present the facts. The truth is, the 'facts' can be presented in many different ways - with care, tact, haughtiness, arrogance, anger, empathy etc. Saying "I'm just stating the facts" says nothing of HOW one states the facts (which reflects the attitude behind the presentation of 'the facts')
