@dlowan,
ahhh.

I wondered if the reference to opening something up meant you'd bled into a cabinet or something - you were talking about the wound itself.

@ehBeth,
Well, it was overhead because I was sitting on the floor.

Trying to get books out.

Which I still need to finish.

@dlowan,
BTW: Did the police arrest and question your stereo system on charges of assault and battery yet? You were attacked without provocation and you need justice! Surprised

Maybe the stereo was in cahoots with your delinquent book buyers, non?

@margo,
It's quite a big gash actually. I haven't seen it, but I can feel it.

Book folk due to come tomorrow.....though they'll likely take only a few.

Then I'll have to lump the rest to a charity bin.

Don't know what the woollies will do without the bags of books to play in. More damage I suspect.

@dlowan,
All bags of books gone.....a wonderful sight.

I am clawing back space in the study from the kittens, as the latest round of culling has given me more storage space. Was able to spend the afternoon in there yesterday...I'd missed it.

More rubbish to go from living room, like my cactused speakers, and book removal has allowed me to have kind of a display case, which is coolish.

Next....some furniture moving (to give more space in the dining area), some movement of wall art and a further clothes cull!

At present I have both nothing to wear and very stuffed wardrobes.

I'm a recent convert to the swap meet.

Take bags of clothes in, leave with fewer bags of much more suitable clothing. Have fun in the middle

@dlowan,
New mata hari copper shower curtain hung in bathroom. From Amazon.

Kind of delicious.

Couldn't find any attractive shower curtains here!

@dlowan,
Back to culling and sorting......culling clothes, books, furniture.

Cleaning, sorting and culling pantry, papers and odds and ends stuff.

Very hard on the knees and back. Wish the fairies did this stuff!

Woollies think it's fun "helping" but otherwise very unimpressed that sore mummies don't play much!

Viola went completely nuts today...ending up attacking me to make me play. She is an EXTREMELY determined little besom indeed. She just caught me resting and has brought one of her little cellophane toys for a game of fetch.

Tomorrow I'll try and organize a bunch of maintenance stuff and for books and furniture to go.

@dlowan,
Grrrrrrrrrrrr.......trying to donate furniture since it is too hard to sell it.

Sadly, all the places I have tried WANT the perfectly good furniture but it will be weeks and weeks before they can collect it and then they can't give me a time of day...so it has to go out as rubbish!

Happily I can give the books to oxfam.....they are damn good books after this much culling!

I now have room for a broom/cleaning materials cupboard! Kaloo kalay, oh frabjous day! I've been trying to get to this point forever! And even an extra little wardrobe!

Also, a dear little bookcase in the living room has become a display case....though cautiously, given the woollies' damned penchant for destruction.

I am also going to put my last lovely framed impressionist print and my Botticelli's out for anyone who wants them if they don't fit somewhere by the end of the week. And the two African masks that have just never cut the mustard....I have some lovely ones that will stay, of course.

Then I buy a new bed and mattress.....also the air conditioning repair person and the blinds repair person are booked.

Next comes exchanging the positions of the Simply Humungous Indian Chest and the big bookcase in the living room.

Then the final positioning of the new cat tower

@Dutchy,
Can't. Live in apartment and there's no place to put it....also I can't carry large items of furniture down a long corridor, into a lift, through a lobby, up some stairs, through a huge carpark and down a ramp!

@Rockhead,
You would be this time if you wanted book cases and a beautiful little cupboard.

All is gone now! I have gaps! Kittens unhappy...they were exploring all the empty places with kitten relish. Little do they know they are getting this:

so that they can play on it, and also to give them civilised access to the top of the bookcase in living room.

Except duh brain here forgot to get rid of mattress and base while I was paying for rubbish removal!!

I think Ikea may take the mattress....not sure if they'll stretch to the base.

Grrrr!

Go, Deb!

I need to do just this very thing.

The built in wardrobes in two bedrooms are filled within an inch of their lives. What on earth is in them? The Sallies have opened a big new centre near my work, so may pop in and see what they can use. Books, books anyone!? Sofa bed? Big desk? I need to get rid of books or buy more bookshelves. Lots of those books I'll never read again. They should go!

Funny - when I worked as a librarian I never bought books - felt like a busman's holiday. Now they're taking over.....

I feel a nesting phase coming on!
