They were told if they voted for Obama they would get a check. They assumed it would be waiting for them at the polls after they voted.

and the bush administration gave out "economic stimulus cheques", worked like a charm, the economy being as stimulated as it is now

Since you, on principles of your party, do not believe in government hand outs, I am sure you will not object to having your check sent to someone else.
