I am a Trinidadian married to a UK citizen for the past 3 years. We have 2 kids. We have both been residing in the British Virgin Islands - him for 11 years and me for 8 years. I would like to start the process of obtaining UK citizenship as this will assist in ease of travel within Europe for our family. My hsband travels quite alot for work and I need visas for every single European country which only last for 6mths, etc, etc.
Any advise on this woudl be greatly appreciated.
@JRNF,

Well, the British Virging Islands are a UK oversees territory - no UK embassy or consulate there.
I would try to get the info's from HM Governor's Office in BVI (you most probably got your visas, JRNF, there, too.

@hamburger,
She wants to optain British citizenship and then first can she apply for a passport.
@saab,
Yes, and that can be done/asked for details at the Governor's office.
@saab,
i still think "her majesty's" representative should be able to help .
there is a link to "citizenship/naturalisation" :

i would think it might be easier to deal with local government representatives than directly with the U.K. - for starters anyway .

@hamburger,
Thanks for the input from everyone. I have already tried the governors office in teh BVI who referred me to the UK consulate in Barbados. I contacted B'dos who informed me they can only help with a spouse visa and I can only get that ONLY when I plan on residing in teh UK permanently. My husband have spoekn to the Home Office in teh UK and we can't get a straight answer from anyone......
@hamburger,
Thanks for this...but I believe this link relates to becoming a BVI overseas territory citizen
