Jane was my friend...I have never known anyone quite like her. We got to know each other easily and talked almost every day on the phone for the past year and a half. We talked politics, family, health, philosophy, books...you name it! I know her family through her descriptions and she knows mine. Yet, we had never met face to face. She spoke on the phone to my husband easily and I did the same with hers. We planned to meet after my husband and I came back from Spain; a trip she helped me plan because she had traveled there extensively with her husband in the past. It's strange, because I wanted to call her each day I was there to talk about the wonderful sun and about the Spain that she loved.

I spoke with her husband last night coming home from the airport. He wanted me to find out before I got home and read email and had left a message with my daughter so that I could get the word from him.

My heart goes out to her family...her husband Warren of 52 years, daughter Mel, son Tom and his wife Barbara, daughter Maggie and her husband Tony...and the grandsons who gave her so much delight. She loved her family dearly.

I will miss her immensely.

Oh what terrible news. I had no idea she was in such ill
health. The same thing may happen to me any day, as
I am very, very sick. I hope not - but I'm aware of the
possibility. What a loss. From her posts, Mamajuana
was always so FULL OF LIFE! She will be missed.

Thank you for your words VN. I have always appreciated any thread with MJ, the beating she use to take on Abuzz just polarized me. I would take off the gloves and jump in feet first right beside her. It was a dear relationship and I will miss her deeply.

So sad to hear about her passing. I had just written her name yesterday on another thread and then thought, hmmm, why am I not seeing Mamajuana around? I heard the news this morning. Death among internet friends is so hard because it is hard to get any closure. These wake memorials help. Thank you, Tartarin. Please extend my condolences to her family. I'm sure she was their treasure.

Down, down, down into the darkness of the grave
Gently they go, the beautiful, the tender, the kind;
Quietly they go, the intelligent, the witty, the brave.
I know. But I do not approve. And I am not resigned.

I am very, very sorry to read of this. This always makes me think of how lucky we are that such folk are part of our on-line lives.

Lovely, Vietnamnurse.
All I ever knew of Jane, was nice and friendly and
outgoing. Surely her memory is SWEET.

It is a pleasure to see so many of her friends and fellow members from both here and Abuzz saluting her.

The people we love never really leave us, they stay forever in our hearts.

I just decided to check in myself today. I wouldn't feel right posting anywhere else without adding something here first. I didn't have any exchanges with Mamajuana, but I do believe that our friends never really leave us. Just wanted to pass that along to you, and add my condolences to this lovely tribute.
