@fishin,
and here is where I am not good at finding, pinpointing or otherwise being able to note laws, but.. yes... it is accurate. Though not 100%, you are correct.
There are exceptions to a lot of laws and that is one of them.

Of course if you cause the death, no you can not be in the will. I think that is a law for anyone, felony or not.

I think, if you are on probation at the time of the death, you are not allowed in the will then either. ..but again... cant find the text for that.
I do not remember the technicalities and I have no clue how to find specific laws . ( thats why I am part of a group and not on my own with these letters and such)

once they're out of prison, they have a right to be rehabilitated thus should
be allowed to vote as well.

I'd agree with this with a slight modification. I'd restore the right to vote upon completion of any probation period that comes after the prison release.

In general, I agree with Jane and fishin's modification.
I do think though, that there are certain classes of felons who should never be allowed to vote again. I am not going to attempt to list the sorts of crimes where a person should lose his vote forever, but in general, they would include crimes against other people (murder, rape, child molestation etc.) as opposed to crimes against property such as burglary.

@squinney,
It means you get sent to prison... you do your time... you get out and they say you've paid your debt to society... in other words the slate is supposedly wiped clean..... and yet you can't vote so obviously the slate hasn't been wiped clean.

and squinney and shewolf... you are both cordially invited to pucker up to my butt cheeks.... in fact it would make my day Razz Mr. Green

@squinney,
ahhhhhhh HAH

bear speak is broken.

Any who, no the slate is never wiped clean.
I know several people who have been turned away from renting apartments because of their background.
One man's felony is almost 20 years old.
The 'newest felony' in that group is 6 years.

Its quite sad actually.
The first man got his felony when he was 21. Stole his grandmothers car because he was mad at her. She pressed charges . He got hit with a felony because he also had marijuana on him.
Really... what KID that age has not smoked something eh?
He is 44 I think.. right around there anyway.. and does not have the freedome to just.. MOVE.. no one wants to rent to him.
Jobs? He has a little more luck there because most companies will only go back about 10 years at best, but he has his own construction company to pay his bills.

ehhh..
Im gettin off this soap box

It seems to me,
that definitionally, no one can be a threat to himself,
tho he may be unwise, in the manangement of his affairs.

I take it that u wish to address the issue of SUICIDE.
Everyone is within his natural rights
to decide when (or if) to end his life.
No one has any duty to live, against his will.

I dispute that this shoud be a criterion qua his right to vote.

@OmSigDAVID,
I guess you have a point there, David. I was generally meaning those that are mentally ill, under the influence of drugs / alcohol kinda thing.

(The horns hand gesture guy is my love, Mathew McConaughey)
