@sozobe,

correct me if my memory's a little fuzzy, but at one time didn't all links (internal/external) open in the browser they were clicked from?
and at some point, it was changed so that they all opened in a new browser?

@Region Philbis,
Oooooh, I don't remember.

Reading that, it seems a little familiar, but I couldn't say for sure.

@Region Philbis,
I've noticed that most links open in a new browser tab like I'm used to but some (it seems to be poster related, i.e., panzade's) open in the same window.

@JPB,
I think it's supposed to be that intra-A2K links (as in, to another thread) open in a new browser tab, while external links don't.

@sozobe,
don't think so. Go here -- http://able2know.org/topic/158-413 page 412 of "what are you listening to now". The first link from Barry opens in a new tab (as do most of the rest on that page), but any of panzade's links open in the same tab.

come to think of it, that's how it was on A2k before we moved over here...
it's possible that it's still a work in progress, hence the current inconsistencies... ?

@Region Philbis,
nope -- Youtube links have been opening in new tabs for as long as I've been opening them. Just noticed the problem with panzade's. Was it the reverse? A2K to A2K stayed in the window and A2K to the outside was in a new tab?

Now I feel sillier...

Many more impotant things to do, I'd guess...(not paid to think, however)

Embarrassed

OK, I'm seeing a faint blue line down the middle of the screen, because the topic title, topic initiator, and last poster all show as blue.

Weirds my eyes out.

@DrewDad,
I can honestly say that I have never lurked unless you count me waiting for Jennifer Whiteside to come out of choir practice.

I have never hit an ex-wife with a hammer although I imagine it isn't that hard to do.

My precious are my affair.

I dislike "Epic failures".

I have never cleared a browser cache in my life. It sounds kinky.

I have not yet had the pleasure of discovering the Freecycle network although it sounds vaguely intriguing.

New A2K feature requests are ten a penny and I don't do common.

I was spoiled rotten myself and I don't blame kids today for having a dabble at it.

I couldn't vote for St. Francis of Assisi.

I avoid calling people stupid. It doesn't impress the ladies who most often inspire such a thought.

And I can't see any faint blue lines

@DrewDad,
I agree with you. The font doesn't help either.

@Intrepid,
Well it's the same font as the last site right there so it's certainly not making it worse that way.

@Robert Gentel,
It must be the light blue colour that creates the illusion of being hard to read.

@Intrepid,
Same color too (unless visited). In any case, typography is pretty awful and needs a lot of work but you guys are just going to confuse me this way. ;-)

@Robert Gentel,
OK. Don't want to confuse you while you are trying to make improvements. I must say that they have been numerous and fast paced. Thank you for that.

In the meantime, I will have my eyes checked and clean my glasses again. Wink

Regarding thumbs up/down/removing votes, I have a user interface suggestion.

Once you vote, remove the other thumb. Clicking on the available thumb nulls the vote, and makes the other thumb re-appear.

@DrewDad,
I like the new way of managing tags, but the "+" doesn't work for me....

@DrewDad,
I bet you are using internet explorer. Am I right?

Thanks for pointing out the bug, I believe this should be fixed. Also, there was a bug where removing the tags only worked on the first page of a thread. This has also been fixed.
