Garg, allow an old fart to remenisce a bit...
Back in the 70's i was lucky to join a real good bluegrass band...we traveled the festival circuit and opened for the likes of New Grass Revival, Lester Flatt and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.

It was the late night parking lot pickin sessions where you got to pick with the big names fueled by Jim Beam and a love of the music.

Hartford would stand on a 4x4 sheet of plywood and play fiddle tunes while buckdancing in cowboy boots.
For the folks who are curious, here's John with the usual suspects, Vassar Clements, Tony Rice and on the dobro Jerry (flux) Douglas.

We used to kid Flux because he took his wedding ring off before getting on stage
