I have met famous musicians. Two from REM, Several from Widespread Panic. Some of the people I have met weren't famous then, but are getting there.

My parents owned an auto sprinkler business in the L.A. area....

I swam in Bob Hope's swimming pool while my step dad sat on his back steps and drank a beer with him. I was about 10 years old at the time.

I've talked with Scatman Crothers on the phone. (Maintainence guy in The Shining) He was such a nice man.

Susan Richardson (Eight is Enough) would visit a doll shop right next to my parents office.

Micheal Caine - is very particular not to have his sprinklers water his driveway.

Once saw Carrot Top on a bus I was riding in the San Fernando Valley. He was very odd then..still is..

Heather Graham went to my high school and graduated a year after me. We had friends in common as she was in the choir and I was in the marching band and we shared the same practice space.

On a single afternoon at my neighborhood laundromat, I met both Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan. (but maybe they were only look-alikes)

@mismi,
Vaclav Havel, friend of my dad's.
I had dinner with Sean Penn once, but I don't think he knows. He sat at the next table at a lobster shack somewhere near Kennebunkport, ME.

I hid in the bathroom to avoid meeting Prince Philip. He was on a tour of our research labs and was on his way to my small one with the department director. What a bad girl I was.

I met a lot of famous people, some of them as patients, which I try to avoid mentioning. Anyway, I talked about it all in general before. Thought I'd mention one I avoided instead. Ah, and I also avoided meeting G. Gordon Liddy.

@Sglass,
I ate in the same restaraunt as Diane Keaton, she took her grand-daughter(? I'm assuming) to the restroom while I was in there waiting for my daughter. She asked me if I was waiting in line.

I rode the elevator with the actor who plays Brass on Las Vegas CSI. Just the two of us, he hesitated getting on when he saw me approaching, I said"don't worry I won't bite." He said "That would be scary!" Then we rode up and I got off on my floor.

I met Danny Glover a few years ago. I was at a hotel in San Francisco on business, and it was during the week so it was quiet. When I sat down at he bar for dinner there was one other patron and the bartender. The other guy turned out to be Danny Glover. He was much thinner in person, and it took me a few minutes to realize who I was talking to Smile

@rosborne979,
When I was in college, in the summer of 1982 I worked as a part time mover, and I moved a famous writer from Massachusetts to New Hampshire. I don't remember if it was John Updike or John Irving, but it was one of them. I didn't meet him, but I got to know his stuff.

@cjhsa,
Hi CJ, I think John Updike lived in Massachusetts back in the 70's and 80's. As a matter of fact, he lived in Georgetown MA where I went to High School. We used to drive by his house all the time. I didn't know he relocated to NH. What NH town did you move him to, do you remember?

@rosborne979,
I don't recall but it was just across the state line. The kid across the street from his old house was an Eddie Van Halen wannabe - he serenaded us all day long with screaming riffs - probably why the guy wanted to move.

As a newspaper reporter during highschool, college, and post college, I got to interview celebrities working on local movie sets or living in New Mexico including Glenn Ford, Goldie Hawn, Shirley MacLaine. Working as a summer intern on the Plainview Daily Herald, in his home town, I interveiwed Jimmy Dean who was a young rising star at the time - pre "Big Bad John" and pre-Jimmy Dean Sausage era. I later interviewed Billy Sol Estes before he was arrested for racketeering, but I suppose he was at least famous.

Both parents worked for the State of New Mexico at various times and I come from a highly political family so have personally met every New Mexico governor from Dave Cargo (mid 1960's) on except Bill Richardson. Don't recall ever meeting him in person. I shook hands with Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

I have eaten at Clint Eastwood's Hogsbreath Inn in Carmel CA and was advised that he was somewhere in town at the time. Does that count?

@Foxfyre,
I've been to Hogsbreath several times. Is it still there?

@cjhsa,
I think so. It was a popular place. Haven't been there in several years now but it still has it's own website: Put Hogsbreathinn Carmel CA in your browser and you get several hits.
