Hello. my name is derick. i was wondering if anybody could help me answer a rather specific question. it is about the ALU in the microprocessor. i am a bit confused on this matter. so here goes, there are 4 different operations in an alu right, add, subtract, multiply and divide right. but i would like to know how are these different mathematical operations performed in the alu. does each operation like add or subtract has a different line for the instruction or data to pass through. i mean all those 4 logical units of add, subtract, multiply and divide can't be mixed into one can it? i hope my question is clear enough. it would be helpful if anyone could help me answer this question. i shall look forward to it. Thank you

Derick
