The Swedes did win a gold in one of the sailing events in 1976.

I was just errrr awed by them. More so than by the Royals who were on-site to open the event. Prince Philip didn't wear his Speedos.

Somewhere in the hamburgers' basement there's a brochure from Tallinn, Estonia, with the then-mayor's business card clipped on - with an invitation to go to their sailing Olympics.

I was very wide-eyed most of the time.

I had different eyes in the '84 Olympics in LA. A neighbpr (...) was after my husband, seriously, and hovering. I won, you might say, but the women's marathon we watched in the marina had that piquant component to it, plus the other drama having to do with the marathon itself..
