Files on Server Won't rename....
First off, I am posting this here because I suspect it to be an MS Office or Operating system problem....
After editing a file and closing it, usually AutoCAD .dwg files, 90% of the time when I need to rename or delete the file, I have to shut down MS Office Outlook before the rename will take. The error message I get is -
'Cannot rename PXX Panel Details Page: it is being used by another person or program. Close any programs that might be using the file and try again.'
This also often happens when I need to delete an Empty folder that I have just emptied of files. It 'seems' like my machine is being mirrored and I have to wait for the mirroring program to catch up. Sometimes it can take a hour or so for it to 'catch up'. (Of course my machine is NOT being mirrored).
I always have to shut down MS Outlook and typically disable the Norton AntiVirus. This usually does it, but even so, it usually takes several times before the system allows it to be renamed. Even our IT Guy can't figure out what is causing it. He says that he has checked thru the software(s), that are running on our Network and is confident that none of them are doing it.
I am pretty confident that it is something running on my workstation. There has been a couple of times that I couldn't get a file to rename on my workstation, so I went to a coworkers workstation and renamed it from there - still logged in under her name.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, this has been happening for MONTHS and is VERY Annoying, as I move, create & delete files many times a day.
