If a young person was to ask you for practical advice and tips that would be beneficial in making one's way through life, what would you say? Please no references to books or pop psycho-babble ..... just things you have learned from your own experiences and in your own words.
Trust everyone but always cut the cards
Never play poker with a man named "Doc"
Never eat in a restaurant named "Mom's"
Never refuse sex
Never have sex with someone who has more problems than you.
Count your change
People don't share your opinion of you, people don't share your opinion of them.
Any exception is just temporary.
Don't try to change people.
Live and let live.
Watch your back.
Enjoy the simple things in life.
Being compassionate goes a long way.
Knwo when to speak and when to keep your mouth shut.
speak in an intelligent manner.
Always be polite even when you don't want to be.
Be open minded and know that sometimes you will not see the whole picture.
I'll be back ............
Treat people the way you want to be treated
Never get involved with someone who has nothing to lose
Money isn't everything
There are two sides to every story
Always have a Plan B
Be a good friend.
Don't sweat the small stuff. It's not worth it.
Hope for the best. Expect the worst.
Have respect for people, even if you disagree with them.
Good manners do count.
The best advice i can give you is that advice is worth exactly what you pay for it . . .
so you think paying for a psychiatrist will get you better advice?.....bet you didn't think of that lol
on the other hand advice is worthless if not taken.
Keep your mind free and clear so that you'll be aware of what is going on around you.
Learn how to deal with peer pressure.
Keep a list of things that you want to do. Pick ONE, then do it, no matter how long it takes.
Never ignore anyone. Who knows what that person may have for you, and you for him.
Good thoughtful contributions. Thank you.
Listen more than you talk.
