I agree, but what I am saying is that objective meaing can only be given by a God, otherwise the meaning of life is just a subjective affair.

Objective meaning can only be provided by your own desire to succeed. Many have accomplished success before the time of jesus; they had sun/animal gods back then.

I don't think you understand what I mean. My own desire to succeed does not give objective meaning to life. It might give meaning to my life in particular, but not the whole of life itself. For there to be an all encompassing purpose to life, there must be some sort of God or creator, who created it with a purpose in mind, in the same way man creates a shoe for example, for the purpose of wearing them to protect his feet. Man has not been created by some creator with a purpose for us in mind. In the words of Sartre "existence proceeds essence".
