@Sturgis,
Quote:
International Brotherhood of Teamsters
While attending college, I worked for the Teamsters as a night biller for trucking companies that paid very well as a union worker. Ever since then, I've been a believer in unions. They also helped non-union workers obtain better pay and benefits to keep up with the unions. The best example of competition at work in this country. https://www.epi.org/publication/briefingpapers_bp143/

@Sturgis,
Duff McKagan

In an excerpt from his autobiography, Guns N' Roses bassist Duff McKagan claimed that the beer was named after him as the writers were fans of the band and he was known for his extreme alcohol consumption and was popularly called "The King of Beers". This is a claim Simpsons creator Matt Groening has called "absurd".

@OnTheFritz,
Tommy Kono was a weight lift champion at the olympics, but he turned out to be a snob. I tried to contact him in Hawaii, because we were on the same block in concentration camp during WWII, but he was not interested.

@cicerone imposter,

Are you really that old? Someone who was 20 at ww II's end would be 94 now.

@Banana Breath,
c.i. never brought up either his age or Kono's.

Kono, the same as c.i. was put in an internment "camp" during WW2 -
Kono was born in 1930 and was in the 1952 Olympics. He apparently started into weightlifting during the time of internment.

@Sturgis,
Kono was born in Sacramento as was I, but my birth year was 1935. We were both in block 27 in Tule Lake Concentration Camp in Northern California, and I used to watch Tommy practicing weight lifting in the communal ironing room. I don't remember anyone else being interested.
