Spring Heeled Jack - English legend during Victorian era, an attacker who was very strong, had claws for hands and could jump very high instantly. People have reported seeing him. Makes you wonder if this had anything to do with the later appearance of an American fictional hero who could "leap tall buildings in a single bound".
