My parents were friends of theirs, mostly through John Farrow, Maureen's husband, famous on his own (I still have some photos, taken before I was born, by my father.) I met them one day, sometime later. Farrow and my dad either already knew each other re their jobs, or met in, I think Halifax. Farrow was, in my receding memory, a Lieutenant Commander for the Brits.

My dad told me about Farrow's experiences and difficulties. I was young, but somewhat remember... when he holed up to write in some down and out place, Damian the Lepper.
