General James van Fleet
Born in 1892. Graduated from same West Point Class as Dwight Eisenhower and Omar Bradley. Star running back on Army's undefeated football team. Served in WWI, WWII, and Korean War. Lived to be 100 years old.
Harry Van Arsdale. Former New York city labor leader, introduced employer-funded pension plans into building trades, unionized New York taxi drivers, and organized the hospital workers in New York-a union now 100,000 strong.
