Zora Neale Hurston was an American novelist, short story writer, folklorist, and anthropologist. Of Hurston's four novels and more than 50 published short stories, plays, and essays, she is best known for her 1937 novel Their Eyes Were Watching God.

Zora Folley - American heavyweight fighter who lost to Muhammad Ali. It was lamented by those knowledgeable about boxing that Folley never got his shot at the championship until he was quite old because he was so good that the other contenders were careful to avoid fighting him. This prevented Folley from being able to be ranked high enough to get a chance at the title until his late thirties.
Keith Andes - actor who played in a skin diver TV series, (not SeaHunt), and a bunch of other things in the fifties/sixties. Father of Mark Andes, who played in the band Spirit.
