can anyone tell me how to open the registry editor
If you don't know how to open the registry editor, it's not a wise move to go there.
The smallest thing you do can corrupt your system..
It's easy to open the registry.
It's a lot harder to fix your mistakes
(As Francis already pointed out.)
Just run "regedit" to open the registry editor.
thanks guys youve convinced me ill leave it alone
It can be done but you should read up on how to fix the problem of a corrupt registry before you touch it.
back up the registry.
know how to restore it using a recovery disk
make sure you have a recovery disk.
Practice restoring the registry before you mess with it so when the inevitable happens you can repair it.
There is a lot of information out there about how to adjust your registry. And a lot of reasons you might need or want to but its best to know the consequences and how to fix it.
thanks for the good advice but im obviously not clever enough to mess with the registry Im going to leave well alone, best regards all
