I like yours much better.

I looked up the orchestra on IMDb's soundtrack listings. Cab Calloway to Orson Welles was just a lucky first try.

I forgot about Andre Previn, or I'd have definitely gone that route.

RICHARD GERE to BARBRA STREISAND

RICHARD GERE was married to
CINDY CRAWFORD who
(and this is a quote from vogue.com) "... dethroned ELLE MACPHERSON as the world's best paid poser in the new millennium. In September 2000, US magazine BusinessAge estimated that she had made over £23 million in her time."
ELLE MAC PHERSON was in
THE MIRROR HAD TWO FACES directed by
BARBRA STREISAND

You should probably have the links solved before you give the puzzle. If you don't have a solution for this one, it's OK
if you want to change it this time!

The secret is, when you're giving the names,. don't even have a second one in mind, neccesarily. Just start with a name and start connecting in your head till you get to something interesting, then make that your second name.

The hard work is done by the guesser, really.

It's interesting to see how different players come to the same end.

Okay, cue the Twilight Zone Music

GERALD FORD to ASCANIO SOBRERO

I'm going to do this backwards for clarity.

In 1847,
ANTHONY SOBRERO an Italian chemist discovered
NITROGLYCERINE, which was modified and turned into dynamite by
ALFRED NOBEL. (Who recognized Sobrero as the true discoverer)

Now, we enter the Zone:

On November 27, 1867, Alfred Nobel demonstrated dynamite for the first time, at Merstham.
On November 27, 1913, Gerald Ford was born in Omaha, Nebraska.

And,

On July 14, 1895 Alfred Nobel established the Nobel Prize.
On July 14, 1973 the United States Senate confirmed Gerald Ford as Vice President.

Ooohh! Good! This was mine:

In 1976 GERALD FORD lost the presidency to
JIMMY CARTER, who in 2002 won the
NOBEL PEACE PRIZE, set up and funded by
ALFRED NOBEL, who created dynamite from
NITROGLYCERINE, which was developed by
ASCANIO SOBRERO.

Now, Groucho Marx to Whoopi Goldberg.

GROUCHO MARX starred in Love Happy (1950) with
MARILYN MONROE, who was romantically involved with
JFK, who was a client of
JUNGLE ROSES. (a flower company owned by Rodney Dangerfield's wife, Joan) JUNGLE ROSES also sent flowers to
WHOOPIE GOLDBERG!
