I rented Igby this week, and was disappointed. The reviews and word of mouth were very strong, but I didn't think much of it.
Kieran Culkin was interesting, but wasn't strong enough to hold the film together. Susan Sarandon was supposed to be hateful, but I thought she was funny! (Maybe I just like her too much to hate her?) Ryan Phillipe was a stick, Jeff Goldblum was his usual annoying self - although he had a great part, and Claire Danes was better than she's been lately but her part was underwritten.
Did anyone else see this film? What did you think?
I guess the lack of answers says a lot...
I'd like to see it. My seventeen year old liked it I think. And he likes independant films, mostly, I'll see what he thinks.
