and creates a vision for tomorrow."

Wow, Misti, the last quote from Henry Ward Beecher surprised me, coming as it does from a preacher.
Of course, he produced Harriet Beecher Stowe and several other daughters who firmly believed in education for women. But to think that he came up with something so tender and romantic is somehow reassuring that those bearded old preachers weren't all fire and brimstone.

For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin - real
life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be got
through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt
to be paid. Then life would begin. At last, it dawned on me that these
obstacles wer my life.

Have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love
the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written
in a very foreign language. Don't search for the answers, which could
not be given to you now because you could not be able to live them; and
the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then,
someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it,
live your way into the answer

perfume you cannot pour on others without getting a few drops
on yourself.

Og Mandino
