The brain dead morons that run the legal system in the U.K. have always prosecuted child sex offenders with the same gusto as they do shoplifters, but the sentence handed down here is *+%$"!**&$ mind boggling.

That is an absurd sentence. Is this causing an uproar over there?
Five and a half years for raping a 13 month old????? And after just pleading guilty to raping a 6 year old a month earlier???

an extreme example but they generally do get sentences that are FAR too light.
Yes this one certainly IS causing uproar.

It is more lenient than usual, but not that much, take the case of the vilest paedophile gang in the UK EVER. There were five of them led by Sidney Cook and Robert Oliver, according to the police they were guilty of the gang sodomization and murder of several young boys over several years, problem was the police could only prove there culpability in one case.
The victim was Jason Swift aged 14, because his body wasn't found for a long time, forensics couldn't prove murder so they had to go with manslaughter. The medical examiner at the trial said that the injury to the boys anus was the most horrific thing he had ever seen.
Time served by these animals, Oliver served 10 years, Cooke 9 the other three served just 3 years.
