I agree with Green Witch, re the egg(s)

and also admire that Bourbon Red. I gather there were lots of wild turkeys back in my old North North, but I never saw one myself.

When I lived northwest of San Antonio, there were lots of wild turkeys. They were skittish to the extreme. The slightest unfamiliar sound sent them off into the trees. I rarely caught a real good look at any.

We've got wild turkeys right in the city sometimes. They're all over New England.

Navajo I used to work had a tee shirt. "Sure glad Columbus wasn't looking for Turkey", it said

I once jogged with a turkey in Wilmington.
Well, more accurately the bird was chasing me as I jogged.
I outran him.
Gotta be the shoes.

I jog at lunchtime whenever I can.

I was working at a place in Wilmington (MA), a suburban area with a lot of
wetlands. As I jogged down a road past some small industrial buildings, I
noticed four turkeys on the lawn of one of one of the buildings. I guess the
smaller fowl were hens and the big guy was a tom. I slowed down to watch
them. That seemed to annoy old Tom, so I continued on my way.

After a bit, I looked back and there was Tom, about twenty meters behind
me and keeping stride. At a certain point he must have decided he'd driven
me off and he returned to his ladies.

We call Native Americans "Indians" due to Chris's mistake, so...
