ENDING of ''No Country For Old Men"

the second it was over, me and all my friends tried to make sense of the ending. what is possibly all just a dream that Tommy Lee Jones' character was imagining? or was it something deeper than that? maybe something to do with how society has changed. would love to hear peoples insights, thanks

The movie was based on a book that made the point that this was a time when the "old style crime" , (the crime style familiar to Jones) was disappearing in favor of a new breed of criminal that was involved in a much more brutal environment (the establishment of major drug dealers ).

The end was, in my estimation, a big let down. Everything that needed resolution was gonna get done out ahgead of the screen and offcamera. Now this worked for the SOpranos, but not here.
