Hey I was wondering if anyone here might have a suggestion on where to get insurance for an independent film I'm doing. The film has a budget of about $10,000, so it's not big, but I'm filming at several local colleges, and they want insurance for property damage. Does anybody know what I could do about that?

Look here http://www.fracturedatlas.org/site/liability/film

Small outfits can be insured for around $ 300, which should suit
your operation.

They Change a membership fee..
I was looking at that website a while ago, but even to apply for insurance you need to be a member of the website and their website requires $7.5 a month! I mean the insurance they advertise looks good but I don't want to pay to apply.

Actually, the cost is $500-1,000+ binder fee+membership fee.

Some states still fund an office to assist with production in their state, and i would think that some trade organization would be available.

Try with sponsors. Show products in the movie... for example, the protagonist drinking coke... That works for the big ones. It's just an idea... I really don't know how this works.
