Are you kidding Dutch?

Your pic on 3172781 is not supposed to make us all run down to the travel agent's is it?

It's the Grand National next Saturday and missing that to slide down a rope is over the top as far as I'm concerned.

You can suit yourself.

Actually osso, given the state of English teaching here, you have no real evidence for that assertion.

It is true though.

You should take on T.E. Lawrence sometime if you like terrific writing. Or Rider Haggard. They weren't on a theme park trip.

Spendy, will you learn to spell Ryder Haggard properly.

Thanks very much for the assistance with the photographs Dutchy.

Spendi, has his knickers in a twist I notice!

Dear me... I'll get round to putting him in his place in due course..

Rather monotonous though it may be in jousting with the old senile confused sap. It be somewhat akin to Manchester United wasting their time playing Accrington Stanley on a Saturday afternoon at 3pm.

The first photograph will give you an idea of the size of some of the trees and respective landing stages, also it enables you to assess the speed of travel one attains and how careful you must be to clear the stage with your legs and yet land smoothly without crashing into the tree trunk. The bamboo brake as I previously mentioned comes in quite handy when you finally master the use of the same.

I have to admit to carrying too much weight at present, I'm in the ninth month now of stopping smoking and have put quite a few pounds on. Presently I'm rocking the scales at a little over 200 lbs, so there is considerable force flying through the canopy. My wife ( Flobo) at 120 lbs is much lighter and doesn't seem to land as hard.

The next snap shows access to one of the sky walkways over and through the canopy, it's quite an experience in it's own undertaking, but as you can see from my wifes face she is quite confident in her undertakings. Good on you Flobo!

This next shot shows the magnitude of the jungle in relation to the stagings and the sky walkways, it's quite a distance between the connecting stages and the bridges sway and swing like hell when you are walking across the same.

This next shot really does give you a true idea of the distances one travels via the steel ropes, several hundred feet up over ravines and the jungle in general, Flobo looks little more than a dot in the distance, the speed of travel ensures you go up as well as down, it is indeed a remarkable experience and undertaking.

The next one gives a brilliant view of one of the sky bridges, I had a great discussion with the guys who installed the system and from all accounts it was quite an undertaking.

Again, good relationship in the sizes of the trees compared to us mortals, the landing stages are quite spectacular. The sunlight breaking through the trees makes a nice photograph as well.

This gives a shot from the last staging prior to going down to ground level, it was quite a descent by rope, but thoroughly enjoyable.

This last photograph gives an idea of how the cables sag under my weight, but rest assured the speed attained is quite ferocious, landing safely is the tricky part.

Your wife is a gangsta- Mathos!
(That's a compliment - it means she's impressively unafraid of anything).

I mean - she's married to you first of all- and then on top of that she's zipping around the tops of trees in the jungle and at the age of 63! Seriously - I look at women like her with respect and admiration and they give me encouragement and hope for my own future - I hope I'm like that when I'm her age. Tell her that for me.

I guess you're kind of brave too - risking slamming into tree trunks just for the hell of it.

I'd want to do it - I really would - I'd make myself do it I think - but I'd be terrified the whole time. My knees would be shaking and my hands would be sweating- but yeah- I think I'd have to try it.

Lovely pictures and fun imagining you guys doing this. It makes me smile. Thanks.

I hope you realise that such remarks grant me permission to pull my socks up and stop pussy-footing around with the simple stuff. Even if Accrington Stanley are the underdogs it would be insulting to them to expect them to accept their underdog status and lie down before the money men. You should be careful. I own a copy of Reik's Masochism in Modern Man and various other hair-raising manuals concerning the inner springs of the general madness.

And if Accrington Stanley was owned by the people who own Man U and Man U was owned by the people who own Acc Stanley the boot would be on the other foot. So your comparison is a mere identification with money and big business. You're a big is beautiful man. It's to do with a yearning to worship authority.

It's obvious you're in denial from the straps the Health and Safety officers insist you wear in case you hurt yourselves. I bet there's a bloody safety net and air cushions at the bottom to ensure soft landings.

You should see me staggering home from the pub with the drunk drivers whizzing past. That's mildly dangerous. You always know what a tree is going to do.

This is a dead giveaway.

What difference does the size of the tree make. It's bigness doesn't make it more dangerous than a small tree. Or even a sapling. In fact it is easier to see.

I'm not more impressed by the bigness of the trees. They are needed to safely fasten the safety harnesses to under the Cossetting of Tourists Directive. That was ordered by the Military to get the tourists up country and out of the way. They know that no self-respecting intelligence agent would swing about in the branches like a sodding monkey. And certainly not with a wife in tow. A wife of an undercover intelligence agent would take advantage of her husband's dangerous mission overseas, "out past India", she might say, to try some of those things she always wanted to before life passed her by.

But Man U is a "big" club. And you have a "big" car and a "big" garden and a "big" head. What else have you got that's "big"?

I hope you only got a small dose of Bangkok Bum. A "big" dose of that is bad news.
