Followed the yuckware removal steps, but stuck

Hi, I found the updated yuckware removal topic, followed the steps there and...when I got to the panda free scan step a blank page openedand it remained blank. Nothing happened. This also happened to the Trend Micro House Call scan, a warning appeared saying the bindings could not be established or something like that...
Something always happens so that I cannot perform an online scan which is frustrating. And I am sure I closed all antivirus and enabled pop ups and things.
Can somebody help me? Razz
Thank you

Which operating system and browser are you using?

Some online scannners will not play nicely with firefox try using Internet Explorer.

If using windows XP You must have service pack 2 installed. Go to windows update and update your Operating system. windows update

Skip this Sun Java update procedure if using Windows 98 or ME.
Uninstall ALL old Sun Java versions because they have vulnerabilities and then get updated.
The current sun java build is Environment 6 Update 5

Step 1: Download the current version but do not install it yet

* Download the latest version Sun Java here: sun java runtime environment online version
* Save it somewhere you can find it later but do not install it yet.
# Close any programs you may have running - especially your web browser.
# Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on Add/Remove programs and remove all older versions of Java. Here are a bunch of examples of how older versions may appear. Uninstall all of these if found:

* IBM 32-bit Runtime Environment for Java 2, v1.4.2
* Java Runtime Environment 1.1
* Java 2 Runtime Environment Standard Edition v1.3.1_02
* Java 2 Runtime Environment Standard Edition v1.3.1_04
* Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4
* Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_01
* Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_03
* Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_05
* Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_06
* J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0
* J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 1
# Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
# Repeat as many times as necessary to remove each old Java version.
# Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.

Step3: Install the current version of sun java

* Exit all browsers (including this one so read the rest or print the instructions if you cannot remember them)
* Refer to step one and locate the file you downloaded. Double click on it and accept any license agreements and allow it to be installed.
* It take awhile for this to install so be patient. Do not run anything else while installing and keep all browsers closed while installing.
* After installing the current version, reboot if it tells you it needs to. It does not always need this reboot so don't worry if it does not ask you to reboot.

Empty the quarantine files in your anti virus and malware programs.

Now try the online scans again using Internet explorer

Other things you could try are:

1. Download AVG free virus scan from Grisoft to your computer
Install, update and run as per instructions.
Attach any log created to your next post.

2. bitdefender online scan
Here

3. ESET online scanner Here
# Check the box next to YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
# Click Start
# When asked, allow the activex control to be installed.
# Click Start
# Check below options:

* Remove found threats
* Scan unwanted applications.

# Click Scan
# Wait for the scan to finish
# When it finishes it will create a log file here: C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
# Attach this logfile to your next message.

Click on the below link to begin the Kaspersky Online scanner program.

Kaspersky online scanner Read the limitations and then click Accept.

When you are prompted to, install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files
* When the files finish downloading click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In Scan Settings make sure that the following are selected:
o Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
- Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
o Scan Options:
- Scan Archives
- Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
o Select My Computer
* This program will start and scan your system.
* Online scan can take a long time to complete and the time is impacted by the speed of your internet connection. Be patient and let it run. It is best not to do anything else while the scan is running. This will help it to complete faster.
* When the scan has completed, it will display whether your system has been infected or not
o Click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop or another folder where you can locate it later.
* Attach this file to your next message.

No need to run all of these just one will do run it have it clean your system run it again and post the resultant logs from the second scan.
