That is the epitome of a baaaaaaaaaaad day to me - but hardly anybody I work with knows what I mean - (most of my non-work friends, do, though!)
"Spinal Tap" has been called the ultimate rock satire - at least of its era - who can forget the foil covered cucumber, the "creative differences", the fate of the drummers?
Did you see it? Did you like it? Can you believe the band still plays? (I think!)
beat that drum, ring that bell, make a lotta noise and you lands in jail
One of the greatest Movies ever made! And now a family favorite:
My 14 year old has "Big Bottom" for his cell phone ring tone!
To movies, it's like Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance is to books. Everyone has seen it and no one else knows what you are talking about.
One of my all time favs. Let's hope you fair better than the drummer(s) of Spinal Tap, Deb! No going up in smoke for you, please. I have a friend who named his dog Nigel after the guitar player.
"Bizarre gardening accident..."
"He choked on vomit...not his own."
One great scene is where Nigel is playing a very pretty, classical sounding piece on the piano, and Marty the documentarian says that it's really nice, what's it called. And Nigel, smacking his gum nonchalantly says,
"oh, it's a li'l something I wrote,
(smack, smack)
It's called Lick my Love Pump."
The movie came out while I was still in high school, and a few of my friends who were in the rocker scene hated it, because they took the movie literally. They took it personally that the movie was making fun of their life style and aspirations.
Christopher Guest, who co-wrote it and played Nigel Tufnel (as I am sure you fans already know), has taken the "mockumentary" genre and run with it.
Have you all seen Waiting for Guffman or Best in Show?
They're great movies, also.
I have seen "Best In Show" - not sure if I have seen the first - what is "Guffman" about?
Waiting for Guffman is a mockumentary about a guy who doesn't make it on broadway who goes to some mid-western area to direct a play. Or that's mostly right.
I actually like the bit agter "...Lick My Love Pump" when he goes on to say that it's a trilogy, "a trilogy in two parts, really"
What's the matter with that? Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a five part trilogy.
so - which one is bipolarBear?
Which one has the cucumber...
The bass player -- of course!
by his pants shall you know him.
is it thursday yet, dlowan? d'ya feel better?
D minor is the saddest of all keys.
