Help me identify this actress and what movie it's from?

To me, definitely not Maria Schell:

Lillian Gish -- does the hat seem to match? The detail on the top doesn't show up in the blurry photograph -- an actual screen capture could have likely been better depending on the date of the film.

Nothing like it! In the mystery picture the hat sits well up on top of the head, has a stiff, moulded brim (down on the left, up on the right, like a slouch hat), has a posy of flowers on the right hand side, and the actress' hair is groomed back into a bunch of curls secured behind her ears or plait or somesuch. Lillian's hat has a wide brim which appears to be of a soft material with wire hoops threaded through to hold the shape and is worn well down the head. The bit of decoration that shows appears to be something feathery.
Lillian's hair is fluffed out all around her face and worn long on her shoulders.

I have no idea...
