I always have to open all of my raw files in Photoshop or other equivalent program.
I can not seem to be able to just preview the photo, or use Wind- picture and fax viewer..
Is there a windows program that I could use to just preview a raw file with out having to open a large program to view it?
shewolf,
try right-clicking on a photo file in windows explorer. I have a "Preview" option when I right click. You can select multiple files, right click and preview all of them as a slide show.
But you can set your windows browser to make your picture files to look like this:
My regular photos look like that....
my raw files dont
How do I take a screen shot? Maybe I can show you what is happening..
This is what happens when i try to preview them..
You have "View as a slide show" on your left tool bar. What happens if you select a file and pick that option?
try right clicking on a file and select 'open with'. You should get a bunch of options. Select 'Windows Picture and Fax Viewer'. It's possible that the viewer can't be forced to read your .nef (or is it .ncf?) file as a picture without being formatted into a jpeg or gif but...
when I do that, I get a reallllllly tiny image. About the size of my thumb nail that I can not see too well.
I cant get them to open in tile form, or slide show.
I just dont want to have to open each and every photo to be able to see if I want to use it or not..
I can not find a setting that allows windows fax viewer to open raw any larger then it does..
I could be missing something though..
the viewer has some options across the bottom of the bar. Try 'actual size'. You can select a bunch of files before the right click - open with and they should all open as a slide show.
