Mars is just a non-subject for astronomers to prattle about. It's still almost as close as it was a week ago--near enough to the Moon to be easily visible to all.
In the meantime, the real story is yet to be told--what's going on between here and the sun.

Before dawn is probably an excellent time to track mars.
