Wasn't sure how to put it in the subject line. But I noticed that there were some missing from the people who passed this past year on the Oscars. How do they decide who they are going to show? Do the people they show have to have been oscar nominated? Just curious.
I'm not sure how they decide who gets to be included in the "in memoriam" montage. It's not restricted to past Oscar nominees, although I think Oscar winners are always included. They had some agents in the montage this year, which is the first time I ever noticed that. I think actors have a better chance of being included in the list than behind-the-scenes personnel, especially well-known actors. Suzanne Pleshette was included, even though her film credits were rather sparse and undistinguished, because she made a name for herself in television.
It wasn't just me who noticed. ET noticed that they missed Brad Renfro. And by a serious omission of the montage ofpast host they missed Whoppi Goldberg.
It was most likely due to the rush to get the Oscars ready to go on such short notice.
But Still a big Ooops in my books.
