Were any of the other Australians here aware of conspiracy theories re the massacre?


The other day, I was eating lunch at work, and a COLLEAGUE began talking about Bryant being a patsy etc....

As far as I can work out, it seems mainly to be a gun nut thing....who say the government set it up so they could make tougher gun laws!


I had never heard of any such conspiracy stuff, but apparently it's been up and running pretty much from day one.


I'm just really curious about how widely spread it is.


This young woman at work was really serious!

I am still just so stunned to hear this stuff come from someone who supposedly understands science and has had enough brains to get a few degrees, so I assumed it must be a commonly discussed subject.


She also talks about angels, so there you are.....

I'd have to look up the progenitor of this one....and I don't think he's from anywhere near Adelaide.

I doubt even the Howard government could be that cynical! What a thought! Shocked

Remember those photographs of Howard, with the outline of his bullet proof vest visible under his suit jacket, as he addressed angry crowds about gun control? He obviously thought they were (gun) nuts & wasn't taking any risks!
I think that was his finest hour. Actually I don't think there were any more! :wink:

Lotta hunting goes on up here. Local sporting shooters abound, most of the farm utes parked in the main drag have a rifle in them.
Hunting forms a big part of tourism revenue for the town. Ferral Deer and pigs mostly.

The rumor is not on my radar.
