Harper's Ferry West Virginia. Pre Civil War town & National Park at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers; the head of the Shenandoah Valley; and the intersection of Maryland, West Virginia, and Virginia. The point where Gen. Lee twice crossed the Army of Northern Virginia into Union Territory - before the battles of Sharpesville & Gettysburg. Beautiful scenery: great hiking - the Appalachian trail passes nearby.
