@Francis,
CHARACTER

Clearly HURTING, Alicia's rubbed aching clematis, turning it redder.

To explain, years ago a local radio talk show host brought up the word clematis, saying it sounds like a female body part, and then used it in a couple of sentences that sounded dirty. That started weeks of callers giving dozens (hundreds?) of sentences using the word in the funniest ways.

HURTING

Harsh, ungentle rubbing t'will INFLAME Norman. Gently...

I'm glad you explained...I was thinking to myself, is clematis something different to a non-gardener?
Or is this a word Fritz is using that he doesn't know?
(and I highly doubted that).

the word is INFLAME

'Eroticism's not jisming over your mate,' explained Nan, tactfully.
'Evidently,' Richard opined, 'that is clear.'

Laughing yeah, I know what you mean - I have to do that all the time on acronyms. One day, we should just have a urge free from suppression day on acronyms and let it fly - see what comes out. I think that'd be fun, although sometimes the funniest acronyms are the ones that defy expectation - like what Fritz was saying about using words like clematis instead of the one that everyone was expecting.

I'll suppress my urge to hog another acronym and let someone else do:

INDIVIDUALS
