Hows the river Iz? Just taken dogs out for a very long walk. Am now drinking a whisky mac! Don't reckon I can get to work tomorrow, too much snow and my road is blocked! Haven't tried the car today, hoping it is ok.

Well have a casserole in the oven and chilling feels like I haven't stopped to day. wishing all well X from snow Devon

Dartmoor ponies have streaks in their hair? Who knew?

With all that rain and snow, it must keep those Dartmoor hairdressers busy.

@mismi,
Morning crew, just after 6am and I'm heading for the beach and a quick dip. Nice photos Alex, seems a little cold up your way too..

Annis another new car? Doesn't seem that long ago you bought that sleek blue model, cars wear quickly in the UK?

More snow Izzie? If so make sure you have enough provisions in the house

Hi to our local a2k DJ, good to see you pop in Miss Letty.

Miss sunshine enjoy your SIESTA>

It sure does look cold out there (here, there, and everywhere apparently).

Dutchy -- I haven't been paying attention to your summer... is it brutally hot again this year?

Nap time sounds like a wonderful idea, mis. Although I slept great last night once I finally went to bed. Maybe that's the ticket to getting a good night's sleep.... stay up until you're ready to pass out and then sleep through the night. Sounds sorta like Izzie=-like.

Highs in the teens here today but the sun is shining nicely.

I went to a wintertime farmer's market today. Great fun and I bought all sorts of treats and treasures. I bought some farm-fresh eggs from the egg man and had one for lunch as soon as I got home. Delicious!!!

@alex240101,
oh oh oh.............. NOW THAT'S A FROZEN RIVER... and here I am all excited about a teeny tiny piece of ice in mine Razz I'm such a dill - get way over excited. I LOVE THAT RIVER!!!!!!!!! I want to be there and see it for real. GOSH. Thanku for posting those pics Alex. I can only imagine how incredible that looks for real. You take good care, love. x

Tulip, yes, I'm fine - no worries, tried to sleep thisavo but couldn't. School's closed - maybe til mid/late week. Little roads are lethal - main roads are fine at the moment but they have no grit to do the B or C roads. Been phoning the necessary authorities etc tonite. Parents informed. Take care there - don't try your hill. Give those kids a hug from me. x

BEAgle - yep hun, all's fine here - got food in the freezer and the weather has improved - still biting, but not as bad. Didn't get any heavy snow at all - due for a little tonite and tomorrow but Tuesday is meant to be dump down day in Devon. Spoke to FQsis and they are all well and good up there. x

Joe (24 is chilly!) Nation - tried to take some pics but my hands were too cold (I'm a whus) and my boot filled with cold water when I thought I'd stand in it Sad It's due to warm up a bit here so will hope to take some pics when my hands stop shaking. Hugs to you darlin'. Iz(who knew there was a hole in my wellies)zie! x

POMcT - ha, you met my neighbour - can you imagine her doing the pony's streak!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's so lovely - she was around yesterday having a natter - bless her - just love my hairdressing neighbour. Was telling her all about your snow up there. Very Happy

Rock - ah, that was lovely....hope you are keeping warm in KS and you're OK. Hugs Rock. x

LETTY - who knew there was a Donkey Serenade Shocked Razz Thanku for the music onboard - it's so lovely seeing you here. (((Letty)))

Missy - hope you siesta'd. Life's a bit hectic a? Do rest, you must rest girlie. x

JPB - yep, that's the trick... one minute typing away, next minute, zonked! No no no, it's not the way - I wish I could just sleep regularly. Rolling Eyes Look for e in a few mins - need to make a cuppa first. Hugs to all to the B's. x

Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmming for Babbling and her PaPa. x

Ommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmming for our MaMaVerby too. She'll be here when she's able. x

Thinking of all our Canajuns too... hope all's k up there. (((((Dj,TC, Bethie,HIM,Hbg)))))

@Izzie,
Izzie and all of our UK crew....unbelievable the weather you have been having!! Gezzz, I won't gripe anymore about the snow we get here. At least we are well prepared and well used to it. It's beautiful stuff but can cause real havoc too. Stay safe, warm and be careful on the roadways.

Beautiful pics everyone has been posting Smile

@Stormwatch,
Hey Crew Very Happy

ah Stormy - we are very good at whinging about a little snow Razz - we come to a halt and I reckon we must be the most unprepared country in the world. The cold temps are more of a problem for us right now - we're not used to these minus temps. Personally, I love the rare occasions we get snow... but, I know it's a pain for a lot of folk and it's doesn't impact my life negatively the way it does for other people, so I'm very fortunate there. There's a lot of bah humbugging going on in the UK - but I'm just going to enjoy every little flake for the moment - it will be over and done with all too soon. There is also a HUGE amount of community spirit - which is wonderful to see and hear about. People are keeping an eye out for others - helping where they can for all those who are stranded. The British, I believe, are very good at that. Community spirit.

It's apparently going to be heavy tomorrow - we'll see. You take care girl - hope all is going well and school and the kids and hubby are all OK. x

BEAgle - did the cool front arrive with some wet stuff? Hope it's going to rain for you guys. I know there's been loss of life with the fires - so terribly sad - do really feel for you Down Under.

So, who's on the deck then? There's some sails need hoisting here Razz Where shall we go...

@Izzie,

I say we stay anchored in the lagoon. I feel like another swim in the warm, clear water.

Hee hee

Actually, being Scottish and all, I left the house heating off this afternoon and now I'm regretting that. But I'm going out soon.

I'll burn some diesel and heat up the car. I'm going to get some fish & chips too, before my class, to heat up me.

@McTag,
Evening Crew

Anchored!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fish supper POMcT - yumbly scrumbly. Your class is running tonite? Good on you guys.

Well, I'm working right now - OK, so I'm taking a break, but I have been working and have more to do. We've had to keep the school closed. They took a camera up so we could show the parents what it looks like - this is why we can't open!

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/whatever/BoasleySnow2.jpg

http://i277.photobucket.com/albums/kk41/LzzieIzzie/whatever/BoasleySnow3.jpg

The HeadT, Governors, some parents and kids who live about half a mile from the school trudged along today to see if there was any way we could reopen. They dug the school gates out but.... nah... we just can't open. It's not safe to do so. There was a slight thaw today but we're down to minus 5 in rural areas - so we're gonna freeze up again overnight. The council have told us they cannot grit the little roads due to running out of grit and having to keep the main roads open - so... there's no access to our wee school. The school, mind, is on a tiny crossroads, 3 miles from the closest village where most of the kids live - just the school, a church and one house... and nothing else in the middle of nowhere. We simply can't get the children there safely. It does look lovely up there tho!

Some schools were able to open today - but only the older children were allowed in. Tomorrow, all schools, I believe, are closing at midday as the snow is due to heave down across the SW from lunchtime onwards. We'll see - we'll see.

Anyhooooooooooooo - still plenty to do workwise so... off I goes again Very Happy

@Izzie,
Morning Izzie, Beagle just stuck his nose out of the door and it is raining, an inch has been forecast so that is gold from heaven after the heat. Humidity is still incredibly high so the air-co will be running for a while yet. Your pictures tell the story and I can see why everything is shut. Floods, heat and fires are our problems, snow, ice and cold are your problems, what a contrast. Keep warm and safe Captain.
