@Izzie,
I think this may be the same one that you had last year... Smile stalker spider. Just ignore it Iz...won't hurt you!

Sorry though I know it is icky.

I went to feed my pups their dinner last night and a frog jumped on my leg...a gooey slimy tree frog. It was heart jolting. I picked the little sucker up and hauled him to the bushes. Where I gently let him go. Then I gave in to the heeby jeebies...I know how you feel.

Our power has been off...we had us some thunder storms as well...G-baby came and got in my bed last night telling me he was scared and I don't think I got much sleep past that. He was stuck to me like glue. You know I'm not much of a cuddler.

I usually like to "hug and roll" Very Happy

Power is back on now and I have to go vacuum the floor before home run derby comes on.

hugs y'all

@mismi,
Morning ladies, you certainly had your ups and downs today, never a dull moment with you three, Izzie, mismi , Tulip, around. Anything is likely to happen. Smile

Had lots of thunder, rain and wind during the night so things are looking a bit gloomy outside, perfect weather to stay indoors, make myself a hot brew and keep out of Mrs. B's way. Laughing

Storm was that strong Izzie it blew the fruit from our babies, have one lemon and one orange sitting in the window seal to ripen as they are not quite right for eating yet.

Cheers for now.

@verbivore,
Hi there Alex and verbivore, good to see you jump onboard despite the weather. Amazing isn't, one day we're complaining about the heat and drought, now we're having what we're hoping for and we're still complaining. Smile

Today's paper stated our water reservoirs are filling rapidly compared to last year at this time when they were only 28% full causing the strict water restrictions of last summer, hopefully it will be better next summer.

@mismi,
Hey Crew " ahhhhhhh " good to see y’all here.

I’m tired so going to have a lie down, just for a few minutes. Will be back later to yabber " just wanted to let you know all is k here. S-boy feeling better and came to work with me. Busy.

We met the new neighbours today. They moved here a week ago " t’other side of the river where the paddock is and up at the top of the hill. I heard the kidlets running around a couple times " but... well, didn’t go introduce myself or anything. Then, today, there was all sorts of palava going on at the riverbank " I could hear a bunch of folk talking and there was a big yellow wire running the length of the boundary in the river. So I took a peek see and saw 3 sets of waders and green shirts - <sheer panic thinking oh no, they must seen me put the grass clippings in the river " uh oh> - so I announced myself rather loudly with a very big smile, and as I am wont to do, jibbered “soooooooooooooooooooo, what’s going on here then?” " at which stage these 2 darling little kiddies ran up with their wellies on, their PaPa and the fisheries commission in tow. It was SOOOOOOO LOVELY. We got talking and I welcomed them to the area and all that " then MrNeighbour invited me over on to their side of the river " did a HUGE jump across and didn’t get wet, had my camera (as you do) and S-boy and I went and saw what they were up to. SO MANY FISH. Brown trout, bullheads and salmon. The Fisheries Folk were measuring and scaling the fish " whoda thought there are hundreds of wee fish swimming around there " beautiful colours " now, the longest was only about 20cm... yeah, not verra big " but just so many of them.

So we stayed and talked awhile in the paddock, agreed that we could take the barbed wire away crossing the river (excellent), told him how I sit at the end of the garden and just listen to the river babble and feel peace around me. Just had a lovely talk. Very nice chap, beautiful children " how very lovely. Bless him " the new neighbour took my hand and helped me back across the river. How happy is that Very Happy

The weather here can’t make it’s mind up " one minute bright sunshine " next, piddling down and nasty.

Now, need to go a lie down for a bit now....... I need energy.

BEAgle... our babies dropped their oranges and lemons.... Sad Alex " drooled Shocked , Mis " running around still hun, MaMaVerby " cuddle up tonite girlie

.... will be back in a little bit " can’t keep my eyes open.... oooooooooooooooooooooof. Missing the Blue Fella too Vegemite " hoping he will fly by at some stage.

Lovin' y'all x

@JPB,
I could always use a hug JPB...((JPB)) back at ya' babe.

Turned in the rest of my paperwork for my new job. I am convinced that this is going to be what I do for the next few years - God willing. Love those people up there.

Izzie - what pretty little fishies they are - and how happy to find a nice neighbor with kids. It will help S boy a bunch I know.

I have (I have cried all morning) half a rabbit on my back porch. I know...it makes my tummy flip then flop and my eyes water just to say it - my doggies (BAD doggies) got a hold of it. I am a little (what am I saying?) a LOT upset at them right now. I had no clue they had it in them to do such a horrible thing. Kitty does it all the time...chipmunks always a gift at my front door - and that is bad enough...but the bunny - good grief. I cannot bring myself to go move it. I cannot even look at it...I called the Prof and I am praying he will come home soon to get it off.

Do I need to wash the dogs after the massacre? Again?

I am just so sick over this.

@JPB,
Sorry JPB - it is gross. The Prof came and disposed of the little halfling. So sad.

I am going to be teaching music at a preschool JPB. I am excited. I have 12 classes and will be teaching them the basics...and I get to help them put on an end of the year program. I just work three days a week. Mon, Tues and Fri. And I get off earlier than last years job and go in later...the pay is the same. Sweet huh?

Very excited.

Sweet indeed!

It sounds perfect for you, mis. See -- good things happen to those who remember to turn off the sprinkler... or something like that.

Now you get to enjoy the rest of your summer without worrying about all that stuff associated with trying to find the next job. I'm very happy for you! I want to see video of the final show, k?

@mismi,
Hey hey

Euuuuuuuuuuuuw Mis! Glad the Prof came home and disposed of. Horrible for you hun " know how that will have upset you bigtime. My cat, Boz, who disappeared when we moved here, used to bring me half wabbit prizes throughout the summer. Nasty. Especially with underfloor heating! Ugh. I must admit tho " I can handle that tho it’s very unpleasant " but I still can’t get rid of a spider. At the moment we’re averaging 3-4 shrews, mice, boids a day with the kitties. I think with those things, that they are doing what comes naturally " and tho I love animals, I don’t tend to get upset any longer. I still have a potential problem with IKE, the falcon. I find falconry absolutely incredible and haven’t seen IKE fly yet " so when we start flying him after his moult, watching a kill (which kinda goes against the grain) is gonna be...... mmmmmm.... fascinating, natural " but maybe ugh too.

So........... went to bed earlier " felt terrible. Little fella been a star as always. He let me rest.

Then " G came over. Next minute " phone rings " OMGAWD " Gdaughter called here Shocked She was livid - Someone had hit her car " big hit " she was not happy. She said she was coming over here as she couldn’t open the passenger door " I think she wanted some reassurance " understandable. Then she said “no” she wouldn’t come over. Fine. Then came over unexpectedly. <my jaw dropped and hit the ground " as I picked it up off the floor I found my smile in Eleanor Rigby’s jar by the door - slipped int on" so all was well>

We had huge shenanigans on Friday with B-girl " stamping feet must have worn a hole in her shoes and given her verra sore feet. Certainly wore our patience to breaking point and Dad finally put his foot down, kept it down and stopped pussy-footing around. She p-d off for the weekend (bliss), stomped again on Sunday nite and Monday refused to go to work. No-one bought into it. House rules are now well and truly defined " now we’ll see if she can act like an adult. She put S-boy and I in a very bad situation at G’s house " I’ve stated to G that if it ever happens again " she will get the Wilkinson Sword side of my tongue " it’s quite sharp and hasn’t been used for a while " so, she better leave a 12 year old out the equation and not expose him to vicious and emotionally damaging behaviour. S-boy is never to be forced into a similar situation again. If it does happen " we will not go there. S-boy has tolerated enough already with her demands and tantrums, R-boy was all but destroyed by them " maybe this weekend had to happen for G to finally use the backbone he has found and find some gumption.

Sort it... or don’t. I would like to believe he has sorted it. Kids are a package deal " if the adults can’t be consistent with the consequences of whatever the kids throw out " t‘aint going to work. G is fully aware of this now.

Maybe she finally “geddits”. She will not dictate my life or where and how I go, nor my sons " nor will she dictate her father’s life any more. So tonite was HUGE. She came here (actually, I’m quite proud of her) " clearly upset but she kept it under control " we got the tyre rim off and G managed to get the very large dent pushed out so that the door will open. Then " she came in the house " she wasn’t too comfortable " but did it. Talked. Even laughed! (would have no idea if it were a real laugh " but hey, any frown breaking from her scowling brow has gotta be a leap of B-kind!!!!!!!!! S-boy wittered away, as he does " breaking the “awqward” silences. S-boy, again, was just a star.

She wouldn’t leave without G and said she needed to follow him home " but that was fine " so they left after about an hour. So " could be a curve ball or a home run. Not sure which but going with ... little steps! We’re maybe at first base " but it’s a start. Reckon we’ve got a few more balls gonna be mashed over the next few weeks. Glad I’m a girlie!!!! Razz

Since then " neighbour who is selling her house " bless her (has her furniture in my office at the moment) came over with her son, stayed for a while and has just left. 11pm.

Just taken my potion " feel my joints flaring " and got work in the morning. Body is hugely run down right now " fatigue is never ending. Going straight to the cinema tomorrow for an S-boy treat " Ice Age 3 " looking forward to it.

Have a huge storm going on right now " torrential rain " so loud on the conservatory roof.

Missy " so proud of you girlie " I know you are going to wonderful at this " you will teach well and those kdis " so lucky. Same pay, less hours.... YippiKiA!!!!!!!!!!! So very proud of you sweet Dixie. x

JPB " love you dear friend. Love seeing you here.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Potion kicking in............. I am on prattle mode. Sorry. Needed to talk........ beginning to falldown. Nearly midnite.

BAZZA " what ya got in 25/26th?????????????? July. Any visitors.... plans. Just have a thought.......... can yer let me know love. Xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Ok............ can’t see keyboard. Not good.

Lovin; y;all miss you all on shoreleave xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
<pushes buttons.......... sorry for ramling nonsense Rolling Eyes

Oh bum! That was a wasted trip.Or was it and how guilty should I feel?
Backstory-I had this wonderfully comfortable toilet seat,designed and manufactured in Germany,for around 4 years.Added bonus,it was soft close (from the upright position,give the seat and lid a gentle push and they would decend to the bowl in around 20 seconds-cool!).Whilst replacing the foaming/cleaning block in the cistern,I dropped the cistern lid on the toilet lid,smashing it to pieces.All I was left with was the comfy seat.First thing,hit the web to get a replacement.I tried for days but to no avail,so went to my local plumbing warehouse and told them of my plight and gave them all the details I had on the German manufacturer.Meanwhile,they provided me with a basic soft close seat (flat seat with a basic oval shape into which you sit.....I SAID SIT !),which has been in use for a few weeks.
Yesterday (Tuesday),I received a letter informing me that my toilet seat was awaiting pickup.Yay!!! I rang them to confirm a pickup time and enquired about the cost.They told me it was already paid for! Alarm bells started ringing.I did not pay for it whilst enquiring.How could I? They didn't even know if they could supply it.Anyway,I presented myself at their sales desk,provided name and seat info.The guy went away to get my order,only to return with another of the seat that they had already supplied me with.What should I do? Tell him of their mistake or take the seat and run?
I RAN.
Now,should I feel guilty about getting something for nothing or say tough titty and re-organise your stock method?

Izzie
