Cheers DDXX, wonder if it is the hot weather or Moby which causes you the need to cool down. Laughing

Good Morning / Afternoon / Evening crew

Oh it's a beautiful day outside. Smile

It's Friday - POETS day and I'm hoping that y'all are getting the Sensational Saturday Feeling. (special thoughts for those who have to work the weekends on the ranch but hoping that there is some time to spare for them time).

So…. a little tune from the crew in the Lighthouse guiding our way (hope everyone can listen to this - it is very soothing) Smile

Friday. Nine o clock in the morning. Waiting for Mr. N. Flicker to fly in.(woodpecker colaptes auratus) The most beautiful bird I have ever seen.
Hello captain Izze, and crew.
stormwatch-Do you get moles on your acreage? If so, do you combat them? If so, how? The moles and I have been battling for four, and a half years. Chumps.
Question: How do you get a bleach mark out of a new blue rug? I'm wondering if she'll notice it's missing.
I have a normal day today. A bit of business, a bit of work, some fun, and if all goes well, some more fun.
Have a nice day.

MOTH BALLS OR DIG A LITTLE AND POUR SOME PETROL DOWN (but no match OK) (please don't hurt them just give 'em something to smell - I have moles - and many mole hills)

Hide, hide now hunni - SHE WILL NOTICE! Laughing

(oh - you could say the ship borrowed it for our Arabian Nights Theme Party next week - could do with a blue rug with white patches to fly on - yep, THAT COULD WORK!) Smile

Ms. Izzie, I have tried your two suggestions.....and then some....which amounts to everything. I dislike admitting this, but, moles are intelligent. Usually, they fall for something once. After that, they devise plans to avoid.
Always the humane way first.

Know the feeling hun. A family member got this really nasty contraption designed to send the mole into his next life (ugh - makes me feel ill just thinking about it) and put it in without me knowing. Suffice it to say, it was removed pronto when I found out - now, I put up with the mole hills - tractor over them and the hill gets - totalled - no mole hurt, tractor blades completely useless, mud everywhere - but hey - I'm happy, mole's happy!

I'm fortunate where, living in the country, I don't have manicured lawns - so not too much of a problem for me. Hope someone comes up with a good humane suggestion.

Top o' the morning too's ya all.

To get rid of mole; first catch yourself a bunch of Rattlesnakes. Put then down the runs and …Whammy - moles are history….. Does anyone know how to get rid of rattlesnakes?

Moles have a highly developed sense of smell, so a more humane deterrent involves simply placing a few drops of a pungent essential oil such as Eucalyptus or Peppermint on cotton wool balls and placing these in the mole runs.

The moles will keep clear of the strong smell and if you place as many balls as possible, they should decide to move away to a new patch - such as your neighbors.

Oh Dee Dee, what a beautiful avatar picture, is that your movie star daughter? Razz Cool

Morning all Very Happy
I enjoyed reading all the posts and listening to the songs. Alex I get flickers in my backyard every summer. I will try and take a picture of one when I get the chance.

I had a mole problem too and tried quite a few tactics that didn't work. Then I was talking with some older gentlemen at a store nearby and they told me that moles don't like human scent so put hair down the holes. I thought they were joking, but they were serious. So, I went to a few salons (called first and asked them to save me peoples hair Laughing ) I put the hair down the holes and it worked. The moles went to my next door neighbor's yard Laughing

Better yet; call the local zoo and get wild cat droppings - keeps all sort of critters away!

I have some moles, but not a real problem. They seem to like eating tulip bulbs, so I stopped planting them. They leave the daffodils alone and I'm happy with that. When one accidently wanders into the house, one of my very spoiled clawless kitties turns in a ferocious cat and kills it. Other than that I don't mess with the little critters. After all I moved into their territory, not them into mine.
