@Izzie,
Oh, Iz-, so glad you've had such a wonderful day! Very Happy
Love the pics, Beth!
Hi, Alex, Dutch-, DeeDee , JPB, et al., and our Mismi is out & about? Hope you're having a wonderful time, girlie!
We were out with friends tonight when it was insisted by my good friend Seth that I MUST have my pic taken for my Facebook profile. So, having had much fun with special effects on his mac laptop, I allowed this one to make public viewing!
[img=http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/4923/photo107dr4.th.jpg]

You can see it best at the website above ... See, I told you I HATE having my pic- taken!!

@ehBeth,
Rocky & redheads? Do tell! There MUST be a story there! I'm really a brunette with dark auburn thrown in there for some reason - must have some Irish in my genetics or something!

And either I take a spectacularly fabulous photo some time and post it, or y'all are gonna have to come chasing after me with your cameras! Very Happy

Oh, & I forgot to say hi to Brooke, bigRed, Alex... anyone? anyone?

@alex240101,
Hello y'all....back from the hills. Mentone is a beautiful place right now. We had a great time. We hiked, went rock climbing and ate very well. Played spaids too. Me and my partner won. Of course.

A friend brought her 5 mos. old baby boy and I got my baby fill. I love those baby boys. He was precious and would just smile that sweet gummy grin...ohweee - sweet it was.

My boys and the Prof showed great appreciation at my being back - which is always gratifying. So I won't be on a lot today. I have to organize a dinner at church for this coming Sunday and that kind of organization takes FOCUS. Something I lack great quantity of. So - I am trying to nip the distractions.

I love the pics Beth - so pretty...those pups have THEE sweetest faces. So cute. And Dev - how do you manage to keep getting those half face shots in? Laughing

Iz - so glad to hear you all had such a great time...I lifted my glass to you and yours girly - had a thumper of a headache Saturday morning...thankfully - plenty of water and Excedrin cleared it right up....not to mention that cool mountain air. I am e-mailing you a bit later...break time

I will say there was some consternation from the other girls about the man who kept showing up in the windows...I told them not to worry - it was just the local peeping tom...strangely enough he was blue and quite the hill billy ...but nevertheless quite attractive in a back woods way. We would actually open the curtains so he could get a better view. He seemed quite entertained. ((Try))

It is good to see DeeDee and your peacock is beautiful...that is amazing to me that you just walk out your door and have that...so cool.

((Dutchy)) how are you sweet friend?

Hi Brooke...I have to go get my mammogram...as much as I hate it - it is about that time to have them squeezed between two cold metal plates...no wonder we hate doing it for pete's sake.

Alex- I just like to follow you wherever you post. Always something good there. Hope you had a good weekend.

Verby - I am proud of you - your blog is great. I enjoyed reading it very much.

And we saw BigRed...hi ya' handsome! Good to see you - take care of yourself...

((RH)) I have missed the music thread...things should get back to normal soon..hope to see you more over there.

(((JPB))) - missed you as well. I have been hit and miss at best at everything...have to find some kind of rhythm soon....hope to anyway...hope you have a great week....

As I do all of you - have a wonderful week and I will be back soon -
HUGS TO YOU ALL!

Good morrow dear kind folks.
We all know that in Isaiah 2:2 it is written:

Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord's house shall be established on the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills and peoples shall flow to it.

Now knowing Missy and her girl friends were good Christian stock I made a subtle change to the next paragraph:

Many shall come and say, "Come and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of Try, he will teach us his ways, and we shall be enlightened in his Jacuzzi.”

When he was found sometime later exhausted and totally drained the coroners findings were that; ‘them syreens did this to Try. They loved him up and turned him into a horny toad’ "

…..Poor Try was excluded from all Green Toad activities because he was a handsome shade of blue, except for his reproduction organ which was yellow.

So he went to visit a beautiful fairy Izzie in the town, who had the power to grant wishes.
"Fairy," he said. "I would like to be green, so I can play with all the other toads."

"Granted!" said the fairy Izzie, who turned him green. Unfortunately, his little toady penis was still yellow.

"What about my penis?" he asked the fairy.

"Oh! Is that what it was; for that, you'll have to go see the wizard." And so Try hopped off to find the wizard.

Soon after a pink elephant visited the fairy, and he wished to be turned grey. She granted him the wish, but as with the toad, his penis remained the original color. So she also told him to visit the wizard.

"How do I find the wizard?" the elephant asked.

Izzie said, "Just follow the yellow dick toad."

I would like to acknowledge the contribution made by: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and the yellow brick road by L. Frank Baum.

Welcome home Missy; you have been so missed.

Ahem to that brother!

@mismi,
MISSY GAL.....

SO GOOD TO HAVE YOU BACK! We did miss you. We're so happy to know you had a good time... FQsis and I sent you a message tonite... you're so lovely. So pleased that the Professor and boys had a good time too. xxxx

Now... as the Blue Boy has been visitin' the hills... you can kinda picture the Missy and Blue Road Trip

Missy:

Pulls off at wrong exit.

opens window

asks directions of a knowledgeable police officer

winning smile... and Dixie charm

Arrives at destination presently.

Clever girl - proud of you!!!!!

BLUE:

Pulls off at wrong exit absolutely positive it's the correct one.

Drives five miles into wilderness, still thinks he's right.

Drives an extra 5 miles just in case.

Finally rolls down window just to get fresh air

Pulls up to a 7 -11

Gets three hot-dogs, a large slurpee, and beef jerky

Asks person behind counter how to get back onto the highway.

Huffs and Puffs.

Gets back into car.

Laughs at the idea of looking at a map as he pulls away from the 7-11. I am a GIT...so says he.

Drives down a dirt road with no street lights insisting this is the way back because guy from 7-11 said it was.

Almost hits a deer

Curses the night

Curses Mis

Curses the large slurpee

Drives and fiddles with radio. - chick channel on

Yells at Mis for suggesting the map again

Admits he didn't want to go to your sisters anyway.

He hates your sister.

Ever since she called him a pernicious weasel

He had to look up pernicious.

Couldn't find a dictionary.

Finally found a dictionary

Couldn't spell pernicious.

Seethes at the memory of it all

But Mis is laughing inside...

And of course Blue was still lost.

mmmmmmm!!!!

Made me smile to see you both here. Just... brill! ((((Mis)))) ((((Blue))))

Indeedee....how's things in your part of the world? Hope all is well and all is good. Hugs gal. xox

@Dutchy,
Strolling around deck this bright sunny-but-cold afternoon, pleased to hear everyone's news. Love and hugs to you all.

My daughter has been to stay for a few days which has been great. She's set up her own cultural promotions business this year, early days but it seems to be going very well and she's always full of such interesting chat and plans.

Some difficult stuff continues but we are living with it and I've been able to resume studying, playing catch up at the moment. Have a few hours planned tomorrow with a rather nice new friend - yep, male - which I am really looking forward to, starting with tea in a beautiful Georgian hotel. Sooooooo traditionally English, I know!

So all OK here. Thanks for all messages in my absence. Will pop back from time to time when I can. T xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

@whiteviolet,
So here goes my travelogue - my trip to mysore ths weekend! I have my niece there (strange marriage systems in India) one niece is just one year younger to me! well this one is 7 yrs younger Wink.
Mysore is in the same state as I live - Karnataka. It was 3 hours journey from Bangalore! But the difference is drastic! Bangalore is a city that carries so much of the "western air". The streets, the buildings are developed. The crowd mostly software proessionals! and the climate cool...mysore is way different..it reminded me of an old parent clinging to the belongings of her children and reminiscing the good old days!

It was calm, uncivilised but dint have the freshness of the kerala greenery..it had good roads and universities but nowhere near Bangalore. It was stuck midway neither a village nor a town.

But it got me haunted. It had the maharaja's palace which made me feel that if i died the very moment that my eyes were exposed to such richness of art..im blessed! The wall paintings in Tipu Sultan's summer palace made u wonder at the skills of the artsmen who then lived..every inch of the wall were filled with mughal art!

The remnants of the fort of Tipu is scattered all over the place..reminding you of a de-facto leader who had an art for conquering..who spread islam in all possible ways in places he invaded & fought till his death! A mixture of goodness and evil..

Its a pity that many places we were not allowed to take snaps in many places..
and finally th zoo and the huge garden with the musical fountain were mind soothing..taking ur mind away from the freedom fights and struggles.

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/8203/dsc0325yf8.jpg

this the place where we stayed. So serene!

http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/3290/dsc0359ge5.jpg

The palace of the maharaja of mysore. Resplendent with artworks.

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/3041/dsc0363vx3.jpg

Tipu identifies himself with the tiger! the animal he rode on had a tiger saddle, this the statue of a tiger in metal, and his tomb has tiger skin colored cloth spread over it!

http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/4170/dsc0400gp5.jpg
Finally the place where tipu lies!

Now to the dear animals in the zoo..i can go on an on about them but i would like you to see this one..who seem to have so much feelings to express in his face! Oh my heart went out to him! he seemed to talk so much of loneliness, of a longing for freedom, to question the reason of the viewers making so much of fuss.

http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/7136/dsc0378uc3.jpg

so much for now..there are still more dearies from the zoo..but im feeling damn sleepy..

I wanted to post an update where folks would see it, so I rowed over here from the tavern.

Miss Montana responded to me in the middle of the night, and is working hard, and long, and cold...(brrr)

Said she will reappear in December, but only in spots till then, and sends a hug to ya all.
