@whiteviolet,
I think smiles and laughter are the best medicine. The doc says for now I am in the clear. I need to go back in 3 months for more x-rays. He said I am strange and have stumped quite a few doctors. The have no idea what caused my body to start shutting down.

One of the procedures done in ICU was to put tubes down my nose and into my lungs and they took samples of some liquid to test for various types of bacteria and viruses. Every type they tested for came back clear. One of their theories and it is just a theory, is that my auto immune system malfunctioned Confused
I asked wth does that mean? The docs said that my immune system was attacking whatever it considered foreign and didn't stop. Otherwise my body was attacking itself. I said great, now I am beating myself up Laughing

@TTH,
Glad you are recovering well TTH...

My boys played ball tonight...J pitched...my baby threaded the needle...I mean right down the middle ....He weighs 51 lbs and might be 4 feet tall...I was pretty impressed. S was catcher...our equipment stinks...the shin guards kept falling off...he spent most of his time adjusting....speaking of adjusting...

Because they are playing kid pitch now and the ball is all over the place - I have to go buy them a cup. NUH UH! Hard for me to believe...got to protect the family jewels..S told me that. Boys and their - well you know.

The Prof went out with a high school buddy of his so I am about to go cuddle up with my Zin and watch a movie...

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.

The rugby pics are GREAT, Izzie! How precious. Keep them safe...you will want to look at them again in a few years when the little fella is the size of SonofEva. (I swear, he's growing an inch a day. Sure seems like it.)

I hope S is feeling better today. Tell him "hi" from us.

We all went to a Greek festival tonight and had the most wonderful food. It's always fun watching the dancers. (I would love to have one of those costumes!...fabulous velvets and embroidery and trims and coins and...ah!)

@whiteviolet,
White Vi- that is a beautiful place. Gorgeous!

Hello JPB, Alex and Eva...and the rest of the sweet crew.

Hoping Izzie has the time of her life...
Alex - you are such a sweet husband. You need to tell us the story about your 15 year old fish- isn't that what you said?

Dad is quite perky. He is seeing his oncologist this week, so I will know more then. I am just following his lead right now and trying to keep myself from dwelling on the what ifs.

Hugs to you all...
have a GREAT weekend...

(great SEC football day - Alabama vs Arkansas, Auburn vs. LSU and Tennessee vs. Florida - a DAY FULL of fun! Best wishes for you teams whoever they may be,,,,unless it's Florida - GO VOLS!)

@mismi,
Evening LOVELIES....

oh my..... Oh What A NITE..... <sings>

I beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen dancing .... I was Mika, Sicccors Sisters, Queen, Abba and most of all Mick Jagger and David Bowie.... to name a few (sore toots sore toot sore toots.... well worth sore toots!!!) Very Happy

I had a laugh.... a guy Mike who I dragged onto the dance floor said "jees, you make me look good" - naturally my dancing skills were ..... lets see.... I was described tonite as be "Phoebe" from Friends.... HUGE COMPLIMENT - loved it... said to the guy that I was delighted my dancing was so worse than his and proceeded to sing loudly too..... what a giggle.

Then... the birthday boy got serious ill.... nah..... note even going to describe the joys people seem to find in downing 25 shots.... ugh..... anyway, we had to get him home and to bed..... by 10.30!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG.... he was so ill. His head will hurt, he won't remember a thing.... and we couldn't stop him, though we did sneak behind the bar and told them that they were not allowed to serve anyone buying him drinks (nasty witches that we are, me and his Mom). Oh so so ill. So we packed everything up.... yabbered with a few folk in the pub in passing.... loaded the car, got back to their house.... then I took the boys to the fishing lake so they could visit the BigBoy on his nite fish at 1am.

Trememendous.... the most incredible moon - couldn't stop thinking of Noddy and her memorial service today - love her.....so so many stars in the sky..... R was talking to the only other nite fisher there .... so they boys went off to R's bivvie and left me and Supersonic Sid yabbering, what a nice chap - holey schmoley - we just set the world to rights, laughed, talked about life, travelling, the stars, his time in the army, his daughter going to Afghanistan in 2 weeks (Medical gal) and all sorts. He got a chair out for me, made me a cuppa, never met the chap before and we had a fab chinwag.

So, left R fishing for another 19 hours now.... and I took the boys home - had a cuppa - came home and it's now 3.30am. What a great nite. Laughed lots, danced lots..... made a video.... what a giggle... for JoeNation on another thread.... but to all the crew on the deck too, a shortened version.....

all you need is music.... everywhere..... c'mon the world.... and dance with me!

Ahhhhhhh well - it's been mad I'm exhausted at 3.40am..... but have enjoyed myself. Need to zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz now.....

Wishing all a great Sunday..... loving y'all - smooches Razz

Howdy to all of you from Ky.
Sorry I havent written lately, but I've been working 14 hour days all week.
Today is the only day off I've had.

Not much going on around herre. We havent had any bad weather since last week, and we havent had any fire runs this week either.

Today I'm just being lazy, watching football and doing nothing more strenous then lifting a diet pepsi can.

Good news...my stepdaughter Laura just found out she is pregnant.
She is my wife Stacy's daughter, and is 28 years old.
What we dont know yet is how many babies she is carrying.
She had to take meds to help her get pregnant, and the dr said it could cause multiple births, up to triplets.
She goes to the dr this coming week, so maybe they will be able to tell.

Of course, this means I'm gonna be a grandpa now, and I'm not sure how to handle that.
I'm only 46, so I'm not old enough to be a grandpa.
Also, since I dont have any kids of my own (that I know of) I havent gotten used to having stepkids yet, let alone grandkids.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings.
Everyone have a great day, and I will write more later.
Right now, its time for football.
